In 1980 Oneil went international. BTW, I LOVE Oneil board-shorts!!
Sometime around 1952, Jack O’Neil opened his first surf shop in a garage. That so rocks!!!
In 1952 jack opened the first surf shop in a garage near the great highway.
Jack designed shorty and long john wetsuits so surfers could enjoy surf year around. Love O’neill
That in 1980 O’Neil went International, Wow that is Cool !
I know a lot of people have said this but it’s still pretty awesome, That Jack opened his first surf shop out of his garage. Thats by far the coolest thing and the proper way to start a bizz.
I didnt know Jack loved Great White Sharks! My first wettie was a O’no!
Did not know O’neill dated back that far. Pretty cool to read…
I’ve always thought O’Neill was just an surf clothing/board company, never knew they started out as small surf shop first.
WOW..what started as a garage shop has turned into a international company that every body knows! O’Neill rocks(and has super stretchy boardshorts)!!!!
I didn’t realize that O’Neal was into great white shark preservation or educating kids on our oceans!
That O’Neill started as a small surf shop and turned into a huge international company.
wetsuits were made out of wool in pre-wetsuit days! KD FTW!
It’s all about the garage, and edumacating the chidlen!

“The American Dream” is what Jack O’Neill showed the world in 1980 only after many years of hard work right there from his own garage. Success is a process, it doesn’t happen overnight!
Thanks Jack!
Oh yeah, and Jacks Front Door is the Gateway to our alternate world where his passion to preserve our marine monsters, TheGreatWhites, is the first step to learning how to preserve them for our future! I would encourage everyone to learn as much as they can about our oceans; it may be our next real estate boom!
When Jack 1st started he designed boards and then went to making wetsuits his friends thought it wouldnt help his business prosper but soon saw that surfers were riding more waves, and riding them better, in large measure because they could now enjoy longer sessions in cold water, thanks to Jack’s neoprene suits.!!!!!!!!!! Thanks Jack You da man
