I don’t know if it has been done before or not, but it seems about time that someone produced a solid movie about the people behind the lens. Fiberglass and Megapixels is a new film by Derek and Craig Hoffman about the relationship between surfers and photographers and the images that come from this unique partnership.
Personally, I am a fan of documentaries, especially when they tell a good story. Granted, even the most untrained eye can spot a good photo. But for the most part, the process that goes into attaining those diamonds in the rough is largely overlooked.

The film was nominated for four X-Dance awards and took home one of them for best editing. It’s also nominated for best surf film and best documentary in the prestigious Byron Bay Film Festival coming up in March.
Needless to say, I can’t wait until this film makes it to Killer Dana or premiers in Cali. Stay tuned for more information on release dates, but you can bet Killer Dana will be holding a stockpile of this movie as soon as possible.
