The time of year has come yet again for the world’s best surfers to converge on the famed point of Jefferey’s Bay. The Billabong Pro, South Africa has continually been one of the most exciting events on the tour and definitely draws the attention of everyone here at the warehouse.
Today is the first day of the waiting period and its starting off with a lay day. The forecast for next week is looking promising and the big screen sitting in our office is finally going to get some use.
Of course the highlight of this year’s event has pretty much already been decided. Billabong has organized an epic heat between Tom Curren and Mark Occhilupo, two of surfing’s greatest champions. The two have met head to head 16 times in the past and are tied at eight wins a piece. Lets hope for some solid surf when they meet and we will be guaranteed an epic show.
